I was born in Austin, Texas in 1947, the first son of two University of Texas art majors. I'm told that my first word was hat, inspired by my love of my grandfather's hand-me-down Stetson cowboy hats. In quest of professional careers in the arts my parents relocated to Houston (a.k.a. Space City) in it's infancy and went on to be instrumental in the evolution of it's art culture. It was there I began my transformation from cowboy to the frontier of space.

My first endeavor into publishing began in the fourth grade with a neighborhood newsletter printed in my bedroom on a hand cranked rotary press. My arsenal of tools included the rotary press with interchangeable hand-set type, a manual 1930's Royal typewriter and a hand made crystal radio set. I later added a gel transfer mimeograph for color graphics, a small portable B&W TV set and one of the first battery powered reel to reel audio tape recorders from Japan.

With the acquisition of the tape recorder I began to fantasize about the possibility of integrating all these various machines into one tool for the production and distribution of entertainment properties.

It was the pursuit of that goal which led me to the creation of 'GO-GO Studios in 1988 and it's re-chartering as a software developer in 1993. While the results of my quest are evident in this web site the journey that led to here is an entertaining story in it's own right.

In my spare time I will be filling out this document with antecedents from those years in-between which covers the early days of love-ins and rock & roll, light shows, album covers and concert posters, Libery Hall, Armadillo WHQ, ZZ Top staging and world tours, the underground press & comix, FM radio and UHF TV, portable video, public access & cable TV, video synthesizers, short wave & CB radio, Hollywood film and broadcast mini-series, computer graphics from Apple, Atari, Amiga and Aurora to today's PC, plus life with the Tarahumara Indians and shows on the French Riviera.

As the world grapples with the concept of multimedia I hope to make my case for the premise that the power of the current technological breakthroughs lies in having finally achieved a singular media.
